Festival Introduction
The 2026 OMNI × Ningbo Youth AI Film Festival is an international programme dedicated to filmmakers working with generative AI as part of their creative practice.
Presented through a partnership between the OMNI International AI Film Festival, the Ningbo Short Film Association, and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), the festival brings together creators whose work reflects originality, authorship and a considered use of emerging technologies.
The programme welcomes submissions from around the world. Alongside screenings, it includes university exhibitions, public presentations, industry dialogue and educational initiatives that encourage collaboration across creative disciplines, research and technology.
Generative AI has opened new possibilities for filmmakers. This festival is interested in how those possibilities are translated into meaningful cinema.

OMNI in Taipei: Hyper Wave × OMNI International AI Film Festival
On Thursday 29 October, OMNI International AI Film Festival makes its Taipei debut with Hyper Wave, the Taipei contemporary art collective behind exhibitions, artist residencies and cross-disciplinary projects. The film festival moves out of the cinema and into Razzle Dazzle, a salt-and-pepper chicken bar in Zhongshan District, for an evening of screenings, food and conversation.
The program brings together OMNI Award-winning films and selected works from our international competition. The films come from filmmakers around the world who use AI to build characters, invent worlds and rethink how a story can be told. After the screening, the OMNI team joins the audience for a live talk on AI, cinema and where creative practice goes next.
Doors open at 18:00. Tickets are NT$399 and include the screening, the post-screening talk, a salt-and-pepper chicken set and a non-alcoholic drink. No background in AI or film is needed, just curiosity.
